I have been practicing law since 1985, with a practice devoted solely to bankruptcy matters. I have represented thousands of clients, including both creditors and debtors in both Washington and Oregon. Currently, in addition to handling business and consumer bankruptcy cases, I am a Chapter 7 Trustee handling cases that are filed in S.W. Washington.

With many years of experience as both debtors’ counsel and trustee, I am able to provide my clients the best representation available. Being on “both sides of the table” gives me a unique perspective when counseling clients on their options and what to expect in the bankruptcy process. I feel that being a Trustee offers a special advantage to clients when I am assisting them with their personal case.

My personal interests include most every outdoor activity with a passion for skiing and bicycling, that I enjoy with my family.

I have been a resident of Clark County since 1973, graduating from Columbia River High School and Clark College before getting my degree at the University of Washington. I have practiced in Clark County as a bankruptcy lawyer since 1986. In the 1990s I managed the largest consumer bankruptcy practice in Southwest Washington, and served on the committee that wrote many of the rules and created many of  the forms used in consumer bankruptcy cases in Southwest Washington.

In 1999 I was selected by the United States Trustee to become a Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee. Although the trustee position is a large potion of my practice, I still enjoy helping individuals solve their financial problems as a debtor attorney. Being both a trustee and a debtor’s attorney allows me to bring an unusual level of experience to bear when helping people face a financial crisis.

On a personal level I enjoy participating in many active sports with both my wife and son.
