The first step in the process is the gathering of information from you so that we can analyze your situation. We can either send you the information worksheet packet by mail, or you may download the forms from this site. Once we have the worksheets we will type up the information you provide into petition form and immediately call you for an appointment to finalize the petition for filing.
We pride ourselves on providing timely service in getting your case filed. We have the ability to electronically file your case with the bankruptcy court. What that means is that when you come in for your appointment before you leave you will have a case number, a date for your meeting of creditors and a copy of your petition.
The cost for filing a bankruptcy varies, based on what Chapter is being filed, and also whether you are filing in Washington or Oregon. Please give us a call and we will be happy to discuss the required retainer to file your case.
Currently, the court filing fees are $299 for Chapter 7 and $274 for Chapter 13.
If you file a Chapter 13 Plan a portion of our attorney fees will be paid through your plan payment. Please remember that your Chapter 13 Plan payment is primarily based on what you can afford not how much debt you have.
